How to request deletion
An in-app deletion option is on the way. Until it ships, please send a deletion request from the email address (or phone number) you used to register with Sampark Connect. The steps below are designed so we can verify your identity and act on your request quickly.

Email us from your registered address
Write to support@samparkconnect.in from the email ID linked to your Sampark Connect account.

Use the subject line "Account Deletion Request"
This routes your request to the right team and starts the verification clock immediately.

Include your registered mobile number
Mention the mobile number you used to sign up. We use this to verify the request belongs to you before deleting anything.

We confirm within 7 business days
You will receive a confirmation email once your account has been deactivated. Personal data is then queued for permanent deletion (see retention timeline below).

What gets deleted, and what we keep.
We follow the principle of deleting everything that personally identifies you, while keeping a minimal, anonymised civic record so that the work done on complaints and notices in your town remains intact for future residents.
Permanently deleted
- Your name, profile photo and avatar
- Registered mobile number and email address
- Home address, ward and locality details
- Voice recordings submitted with complaints
- Photos and attachments you uploaded
- Chat messages with leaders and officers
- Device identifiers and push-notification tokens
- App preferences and language settings
Retained (anonymised)
- The civic complaint itself, stripped of your identity, so the ward's record is preserved
- Anonymised analytics about complaint volumes and resolution times
- Audit logs required under Indian IT and grievance-redressal rules
- Records we are legally required to keep by a court or government authority
Retention timeline
Once your deletion request is confirmed, your personal data is removed from active systems immediately and kept in secure backups for up to 90 days for fraud-prevention and disaster-recovery purposes. After 90 days it is permanently and irreversibly deleted from all our systems.
What happens after you request deletion.
- Immediate deactivation. Your account is signed out of all devices and made inaccessible. You will not be able to log back in.
- Identity verification. We match the request against your registered mobile number / email. This is usually instant.
- Personal data purge. All personally identifying data listed above is removed from our live systems within 7 business days.
- Backup purge. Encrypted backups containing your data are cycled out within 90 days, after which the deletion is complete and irreversible.
- Confirmation email. We send you a final confirmation once permanent deletion is complete.
Before you go.
A few things worth knowing before you delete your account:
- Open complaints stay open. Any unresolved grievance you filed will remain with the municipal authority as an anonymised civic record so it still gets addressed.
- Account deletion is permanent. Once the 90-day window ends, we cannot recover your account, history or attachments. You'd need to sign up fresh.
- You can also just sign out. If you only want a break, signing out of the app does not delete any data and you can come back any time.
- Sampark Connect is free. There are no subscriptions to cancel before requesting deletion.
